Who We Are
Missions has been in the DNA of Hawthorne Gospel Church since its founding. One of our core values states: God’s great love for the world motivates us to reach out with creative and caring ways of sharing the gospel. Locally we will build bridges to the people in our communities and globally we devote ourselves to world missions.
Since the church’s first missionary went to Africa in 1939 HGC has maintained a strong commitment to this cause. They have planted new churches, served the needs of these new communities, discipled young people from every walk of life, provided health care and fed, clothed the poor, built schools, provided leadership development and training, worked with literacy, and organizational support.
Missionaries from Hawthorne Gospel Church have also taken the initiative to introduce the gospel into “unreached people groups” who have no access to local churches - and the list of what they do or have done goes on and on. And all this is done with the desire to share the gospel so that people come to know God and to grow in their relationship with him.

Our History In Missions

.jpg)

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:13-15
Our Missions Partners
Our missions partners are ordinary people from all walks of life—teachers, tradespeople, parents, students. They’re not superstars or super-spiritual. Each one simply felt the tug of God on their hearts to share the good news of the gospel and chose to respond in faith.
Their work is as diverse as their backgrounds. Some serve in places where the gospel is openly welcomed, while others go where it's dangerous to be known. For their safety, you’ll notice that some names and photos have been omitted.
